you've been working all day
and to unwind
a walk in the park
it is late, 2100
it is not really late
but for a 0500 morning
it is late
instead of worrying about the time
you take in the night air
it is fresh
you could not find it downtown Los Angeles
but here,
you sigh
and say
this is what oxygen smells like
fresh and healthy
so walking you are
through grasses, and dirt roads, and pavement
through and past trees
hearing the sounds of crickets and coyotes
some low voices,
the vision hits you
it is the moon getting closer
