old town roads have these
shirts with sleeves
trees with leaves
grass with blades
milk for trade
well, back in the day

now scattered in a concrete jungle
no time for bungling
time to eat
get from under the crumbling

emotions are sometimes unstable
so excuse me please
away from the table
i shall return
when i am able

hopefully sometime soon
when groceries are plenty
and maybe a silver spoon
i can fantasize at least
straight to the moon

but as it is right now
in a tiny room
i call it a closet
